The Department of Social Protection launched the Work Placement Experience Programme(WPEP) last week and the scheme is now available for application by host organisations.
The scheme provides an opportunity for employers to host a participant on a work placement for 30 hours per week for a duration of 6 months at no cost to the company.
The participant is paid an allowance of €306 per week by The Department of Social Protection.
The Work Placement Experience Programme is open to application from customers aged between 18-65 years of age who are in receipt of a qualifying payment for 6 months.
Work Placement Experience Programme placements are advertised by host organisations on www.jobsireland.ie
Customers apply directly to the host organisation to make an application for a WPEP placement.
